CVPBR has been established since Aug 2013 and was founded by Donna Penne. We work to find home for displaced pit bulls in our community and others. We promote spay and neutering and keeping your dog healthy. We bring in dogs to our rescue and place them in the right forever home. We want our dogs in foster homes to help with socialization and learn basic commands and prepare them for a new life in a new loving home.

Since we started, we have helped dozens of dogs find a new leash on life and have connected families throughout Iowa with their new companions.  Our dogs have been rescued from states around the US with many of them coming from Iowa, Kansas, and Texas.  Many of the dogs we rescue were at risk of being euthanized due to overcrowding and breed related stigma.
